Y Be Fit Palm Desert Challenge 2018
Y Be Fit Palm Desert Challenge, a health and fitness fair, took place on October 7th, 2018. The event included a reverse triathlon, a 5K run/walk, and a 2K color run. Vendors, booths, music, and pool play were also available for contestants to enjoy!
The Challenges
5k Run/Walk
Reverse Triathlon
5k run/walk → 10 mile bike ride → 300 meter swim
Participants were encouraged to take the challenge individually OR participate as a relay team; 1 person runs, 1 person bikes, and 1 person swims. Each team member received an event shirt along with a finisher medal.
2k Color Run
5 color stations along the course. 600 pounds of color along with 25 gallons of florescent paint were part of the run!
The Mayor's Cup
The perpetual trophy was presented at the awards ceremony to the top female and male performer in the triathlon. Their names were be engraved on the award and it is featured at City Hall and the YMCA throughout the year.
Fitness Club Challenge
There were two awards up for grabs in the Fitness Club Challenge.
- The Fitness Club with the most people registered in the 5k and triathlon was presented a special plaque.
- The Fitness Club with the fastest relay team in the triathlon (among all Fitness Club teams) received a special plaque.
